Freddy's Chophouse

If you’re looking for a reliable steakhouse in downtown San Diego that won’t break the bank, I recommend checking out Freddy's Chophouse on Fourth Avenue in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Freddy's Chophouse

Freddy's Chophouse has been open just under a year, but based on their well-crafted menu, selection of cocktails, and beautiful space I think they’re here to stay! This family-owned steakhouse is run by the same family that owns and operates Las Hadas. Located next-door, Las Hadas has been a staple in downtown San Diego. The Gomez family has been in the restaurant business for years. They started their journey at Outback Steakhouse as a father and sons trio. Over the years, they acquired skills and knowledge of the restaurant industry, and they decided to open Las Hadas. After years of running and managing their own location when the opportunity came to take over the space next-door, their family jumped at the chance! With their experience in the steakhouse business, opening Freddy's Chophouse seemed like a logical next step.

Freddy's Chophouse

I had the pleasure of enjoying a meal at Freddy’s Chophouse last week. The food was enjoyable and there were a few standout items! I really loved the flavor combinations of the BBQ burger. However, my two favorite items on the menu were the pork belly toast and the jalapeño bacon mac & cheese. These items were balanced so well and just so delicious that I didn’t want to stop eating them!

Their venue is completely remodeled, and the space is gorgeous. It’s a lovely place to enjoy handcrafted cocktails. I tried both the Honey Bee, which is a bourbon honey cocktail, and the Swiftie which was a vodka floral cocktail. This venue also has an exceptional Happy Hour. They offer a variety of bites and cocktails for $10 each. You are not going to find this type of quality and price point elsewhere in the Gaslamp area. This is an extremely great deal!

Visit Freddy's Chophouse through their website and I highly recommend making a reservation! You might be able to grab a space at the bar, but if you want one of their bougie art deco booths you’re going to want to make a reservation! You can check out their vibe by following their Instagram Freddy’s Chophouse.

Thank you to Freddy’s Chophouse for inviting me to dine at their location. It was a pleasure!
