La Casa de Niños located in Big Bear
La Casa de Niños was an beautiful location for our family during our stay at Big Bear Lake. You could tell that the host went above and beyond to make this a welcoming space for their guests. The overall layout and design made our Big Bear vacation feel like a grand retreat!
Bedrooms
The property offered three bedrooms. Bedroom one featured a king bed and a full bathroom. This was where my husband and I stayed. It was on the opposite side of the other bedrooms and on the first floor. This room acted more like a retreat from the rest of the house.
Bedroom two featured a king bed and two single beds. The single beds were trundle beds. This room was spacious and featured a full bathroom. The bathroom felt like a mini spa and the design was so unique!
The third bedroom hosted a double bed and three single beds, this was a bunkbed and a trundle bed, the room also had a full bathroom. This room had an excellent view of the surrounding trees, and it felt like you were staying in a treehouse. This room also had children’s toys and books.
In the living room, there was additional space for an air mattress and a couch for sleeping if needed. The house sleeps up to 11 guests and features four full baths, three bedrooms, eight beds, and full laundry.
Living Spaces
The house has a full kitchen and tons of space for cooking. It had excellent appliances, and everything was well kept and very clean. There were plenty of towels and paper goods if needed. There was a dining room featuring a fireplace as well as a bar room just off the main living room.
The main living room had a gorgeous floor to ceiling fireplace and the fully furnished bar space and billiards area looked directly onto it. This room had a variety of small toys and book for children. The billiards area included a pool table and a shuffleboard.
Additionally, there is a smaller family room space that has a TV and fireplace. Perfect for quiet watching of TVs or relaxing. This might be a good place for parents or grandparents to get some space.
Outdoor Spaces
The house featured extensive outdoor living spaces. There was an outdoor kitchen featuring grills, griddles, and barbecues, as well as two fireplaces and one fire pit. This was perfect for making dinner, s’mores, and hanging out outside.
In the front yard there was another dining space just off the main dining room. This made it comfortable for seating additional guests. I loved the addition of children’s toys outside and play spaces to keep them entertained and active while you’re on your trip.
Location
The location was just a few minutes away from gas stations, restaurants, fast food, and grocery stores. The cabin was located just a few minutes from The Village, and it made it possible for us to go back-and-forth throughout our stay. In the village, you will find restaurants and activities, such as a movie theater, tons of shopping, and restaurants with live music.
We chose to visit the Bowling Barn, which had a very fun and interactive video display which my kids loved and made bowling exciting and engaging. Additionally, we drove a few minutes out of the village to the Alpine Slide where we rode the Bobsleds. It featured a 10-minute course as well as a shorter course that took you up on a ski lift, the ski-lift in summer was a lot of fun. This was also a great location if you wanted to access the lake. It was just across the main street. The lake has a variety of activities to offer including boating, sightseeing, and fishing.
Overall, we had an excellent visit to La Casa de Niños and I will definitely recommend trips to this location again. If you want to book your own vacation visit their booking page.
